Surface chip and channel samples yield 0.27% U3O8 over 3.9 metres and 0.19% U3O8 over 3.1 metres at Lucky-7 Zone

October 2, Vancouver, B.C. - Kaminak Gold Corporation (KAM:TSXV), and partner Pacific Ridge Exploration Ltd. (PEX:TSXV), today announced 11 diamond drill holes have been completed on Kaminak’s 100% owned Baker Lake uranium project, located in the Kivalliq District of the Nunavut Territory. The drill program is ongoing and is contingent on weather conditions.

Proposed Asian Nuclear Power Plants Threaten Global Uranium Supplies

We found the following information from CIBC World Markets interesting and relevant because it highlights to an increasing need to discover new sources of uranium, coming from geopolitically stable and mining friendly jurisdictions. CIBC World Markets estimates that a boom in Asian nuclear power plants threatens to cause world shortages of uranium as 80 new reactors are now under construction or approved worldwide, most of them in Asia.

BDI Mining Corp Expands Campaka Mine in Indonesia

September 21:  London-based BDI Mining Corp. announced that it is expanding operations at its Cempaka alluvial diamond mine in Indonesia. This expansion will produce up to 100,000 carats of rough stones a year.
